12 Ways to Keep 😎Cool at Disney

  1. Visit a Disney Waterpark: Blizzard Beach OR Typhoon Lagoon. Consider purchasing Park Hopper PLUS Tickets. It’s only about $20 more per ticket. For example, if you buy a 5 Day Park Hopper Plus Ticket, you also get 5 Visits to a waterpark! Now, that’s COOL.
  2. Eat Light! Stay hydrated and eat smaller, lighter meals like yummy salads! Big fan of the salads at Satuli Canteen in Pandora.
  3. Cooling fans, neck fans, cooling towels, spray bottles…they are all lifesavers in the heat! Amazon has it all! I also have bought some cute Disney fans from Walgreens.
  4. FROZEN Drinks. Disney offers so many delicious frozen drinks: coke, slushies, coffee, milkshakes, frozen adult cocktails…etc! Always a YES for me and my family. My personal favorite: any of the “adult” slushies from France in EPCOT.
  5. Grab some SHADE. Parasols, sunglasses, hats, and well, anywhere where you can just get outta the sun for a bit is a MUST. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen often.
  6. Schedule a mid-day dining reservation. It’s typically less busy than lunch/dinner and plus, this is always the hottest part of the day! Also look for quick service restaurants with indoor seating ie. Cosmic Rays, Pecos Bills, Docking Bay 7, Backlot Express, Connections Cafe, Sunshine Seasons, Satuli Canteen, and Restaurantsaurus.
  7. Ice Cream. This one gets a “slight” recommendation because well, it MELTS fast! But it’s cold and oh-so-delicious! Avoid anything drippy, ie I’m looking at you Mickey Ice Cream Bar.
  8. Hit INDOOR attractions especially long ones. I also like rides that have inside Queues. Carousel of Progress, Pirates of the Caribbean, it’s a Small World, Mickey’s Philharmagic, Spaceship Earth, Seas with Nemo & Friends, Living with the Land, Rise of the Resistance, Millenium Falcon, Muppet 3-D Vision, Bug’s Life and Festival of Lion King.
  9. Schedule a POOL Day or Take Mid-day Breaks!! This is probably my TOP and favorite way to stay cool. If you stay in the parks: find SPLASH pads! EPCOT & Magic Kingdom have 2 fantastic splash pads!
  10. Have some free time? Hop on the monorail and check out Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Polynesian Village Resort and Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Fabulous dining options, too.
  11. I love the Skyliner. If you’re staying at Disney’s Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach or Riviera Resort, you’ll ride this often to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. But, even when I’m not staying at one of these hotels, I hop on the Skyliner for fun or just to park hop. 100% better than any stuffy, crowded bus.
  12. Rope Drop, Use Early Park Admission (Disney Hotel Guests only) and/or Stay Late! Cooler temps, less people, and lower wait times. Personally, I’m a close the park kinda gal (and so is my family). Heck, I love to walk around an empty park & be the “almost” last person to leave. Golden.

Wishing you a COOL and MAGICAL Vacation! Cheers!
