Well, it’s time to say Goodbye (but I really don’t want to) to Disneyland’s MaxPass and Walt Disney World’s Fastpass. Yep, you heard me right! They are officially retired. Gone. Done. Outta here.

Replacing these 2 options will be Disney Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selection using Lightning Lane. Lots of new phrases and words here. I’m going to use IAS for the latter option. Disney has yet to announce an official launch date. I will continue to update this post as more information becomes available.

Plus, 2 OPTIONS using the Lightning Lane entrance that will save you time in line :

1- Disney Genie+ Service(available for purchase)

For the price of $15 per ticket per day (per person) at Walt Disney World Resort and $20 per ticket per day at Disneyland Resort, You can choose the next available time to arrive at a variety of attractions and experiences using the Lightning Lane entrance. You can make one selection at a time, throughout the day – from classics like Haunted Mansion to thrill rides like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and newer favorites like Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (attractions subject to limited availability). Genie+ can be purchased ahead of time and added to vacation packages, standalone date-based WDW park tickets and most standalone Disneyland park tickets. You can also purchase it after you arrive, on each day you want to use it. This is done on the app.

At Walt Disney World, all guests can make the first Genie+ selection at 7am on the day of their visit. At Disneyland, all guests can make their first selection after they enter a theme park.

2- Individual Attraction Selections 💲💲(available for purchase):

Schedule a time to arrive at up to two highly demanded attractions each day using the Lightning Lane entrance – like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom Park and Radiator Springs Racers at Disney California Adventure Park (subject to limited availability; attractions not included with Disney Genie+). Pricing will vary by date, attraction and park. Prices will be per person. These tickets can only be purchased day of your visit. See details below.

Guests staying at SELECT Walt Disney World Resort hotels can purchase up to 2 individual attraction selections for Lighting Lane access at 7am on the day of their visit. All other WDW Resort guests can purchase individual attraction selections at park opening time. At Disneyland, all guests can purchase on the day of their visit after they enter a theme park.
